Hi Hroðgar, I'm not sure about the legalities of the below in your country, but where I live "My Network" is considered private property.
Thus it would be fine were I to create a Malicious Honeypot using the current ssid, channel etc. and should anyone (forcing entry) be nuked by it (esp. since it is not an open wifi) he's on his own. If you google a bit you'll find this is actually very easy to do. My two cents... Hi David, Thanks for the thorough list of ideas and urls! I didn't know about dd-wrt nor the podcast, zuperkool. The idea of having someone intentionally cracking my router, now at least 4 times .... it doesn't seem like a white hat to me. N.B. I am very grateful for the work of Île Sans Fil ( et Zap ) and support the concept of open wifi hotspots ( ignoring the side effects of the financial allocation in the security domain ) *yes I see the blackhat security threat 8} > While your not able to sniff the wireless traffic directly, you could > also put a bridge between your router and modem and list there, > depending on your setup. Ah yes, wise, I thought of that, but I may just buy a new router before I get up the effort. Thanks to David and the other for your suggestions Muchos Thank yous Hro _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca Standard Bank email disclaimer and confidentiality note Please go to http://www.standardbank.co.za/site/homepage/emaildisclaimer.html to read our email disclaimer and confidentiality note.
