Anyone know if there is some user space in the netbook motherboard bios to
permit writing a string of data. I don't own the netbook, but I was hoping that
I could put into the motherboard bios, a string that, on boot up, would say
"This computer belongs to : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" or a hidden string that
I could read from a C or C++ program.

My ASUS desktop motherboard supports "the easy set of options (flash, boot,
etc)".  For the netbook, I was thinking the mother board might have the same
option. (I think it is an Intel MB) As I stated, I would like to put in some
confidential encrypted data that I could retrieve with a relatively simple C or
C++ call.

Ditto for the harddrive.
