Can we mix grub with grub2?

Is there a Grub2 option to send grub2 to boot the mbr on another drive?

grub2 made a config file. It lists all the software, but unfortunately the
windows software won't boot.

To allow me to use windows, I have to reconfigure the drives so that grub
starts.

herein is what the device map looks like.

(hd0) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD2500KS-00MJB0_WD-WCANK3319914
(hd1) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD10EARS-00Y5B1_WD-WCAV5F050681
(hd2) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-Maxtor_6L200R0_L59KKSVH

On hd0, I have windows 7 for 1/2 drive and data for the other half
on hd1 I have Debian Squeeze
oh hd2 I have Fedora and XP

If the drives are configured as hd2,hd0,hd1, I can boot fedora or either
windows version

If the drives are configured as hd1, hd0, hd2, then Debian and Fedora can be
booted.

Is there a Grub2 option to send grub2 to boot the mbr on another drive?
