There are too few "stars" for this issue to be considered in a timely
matter. There has been several proposed alternatives that all work to
some extent. But the request is to have this issue corrected on the OS
level.
Now to do that, we need awareness. However, this is an English written
page so a lot of people affected by this issue are not necessarly
reading those pages (ie. French speakers in Quebec who use a French
QWERTY keyboard).

I have posted this message on all 3 issues in hopes that we can
accomplish three things:
1. Focus our efforts to have the issue STARRED as much as possible
2. Bring to attention our problems to other users who endure this
problem silently.
3. Increase overall awareness on the issue.
I mean, if someone was able to program and Gingerbread keyboard and
have it work like we need, how hard can it be to take his code and
apply it to future versions of Android.
