I recently got to use a Sony PRS-650. I think it works really well so
long as the ebook file format is epub. The text is really sharp and
you can decide on the size of it. There is minimal glare but e-ink
technology is still not exactly like paper even if it feels close to
it. I tried reading manga on it and while the images were sharp, the
6 inch screen was slightly too small to read some text. PDF of
scanned books were the least pleasant experience, each page was too
small for my taste and while you can zoom, zooming is too slow and not
practical in my opinion.
My best advice to you is if you can, try it. If you buy one at Future
Shop, you can always return it within 30 days I think. If you're
going for text only ebooks(not scanned pages of a book), an ebook
reader is cool. If you intend to read scanned content, I would look
for a tablet, a netbook or something with a bigger screen size than 6".

Saw an article in the Gazette about this model. Has anyone any
experience with it. $129 at future shop.
Would it be better to go after a color e-book reader. Or should I
go for a Netbook?
I basically want to read some books and I want to load some pdf
files (example Postgres manual, and some other linux manuals in pdf
format.
