Quoting Hendrik Boom <[email protected]>:
I have a kobo, another device with e-paper. IT's much better than glossy paper, but has more glare than ordinary matte paper. But its slightly grey background I find easier on the eyes in bright sunlight tban white paper.
The kobo was on my list of reader to give a try with the Sony. I have yet to try the Sony in the sunlight but it will come. I know that in the house, I tilt it a certain way if there's any light reflecting. From what I read, some of it can be attributed to the touch screen surface but it's apparently much less of an issue than previous generation. So far, I don't mind it but as I said, I have yet to try it in direct sunlight.
I haven't seen any artwork look good on my kobo. But I find that a lot of manga on paper is also printed too small to read some text.
I think it's because the kobo is 8 shades of grey while the Sony is 16(If my memory is right). Though this doesn't make a difference in the end since the text isn't always readable or is really too small for a manga.
I also have to add, I don't know which user interface I hate the most, Gimp or Calibre.
