Hi everyone,
We are running Zenoss Core at work for monitoring. While it work for
our needs, I still have people complaining of slow-down when there
doesn't seems to be much traffic on the network. The graphs produced
by Zenoss are a 5min average and doesn't really give an indication of
real-time traffic or lantency.
I'm looking for better tools to monitor the use of our network (and
of
our 2 uplinks). I'm also looking at replacing our router with
something like Pfsense or Astaro. Any good linux distribution or
router suggestions would be welcome. Prior or current experience even
more appreciated.
I've been using the following tools for many network monitoring tasks
such as traffic analysis, statistics collection, triggers, alerts etc:
Nagios - http://www.nagios.org
Zabbix - http://www.zabbix.com
Ntop - http://www.ntop.org/news.php
The last one is specially great for on-site network troubleshooting.
Regards,
