On a complete side note I had a similar issue with my T42 a while back and there was a bootable USB fix that pretty much removes the "White List" which allows any card to be used after. The only catch is if the bios battery on the system board is dead and the motherboard has no power running threw it it resets back to factory default so it is not that invasive and worked when i added a Dell wireless card in my laptop. Do a search for the keywords you mentioned and you should be able to find it easily enough. Here is the reference i used and it seems the T60 is supported. http://www.command-tab.com/2006/02/26/thinkpad-1802-error-fix/ Enjoy.
