UBUNTU 11.x creates its own domain name. It did not ask me for one. I edited /etc/hostname to the format xxx.yyy (make sure it is legit do not do xxx-yyy) and rebooted. Seems to allow some ability to start my QT installation

I destroyed my OS by trying to remove an ADSL connection bug (couldn't connect consistently, tried to reboot/reconfigure all hardware external to the machine, etc.). Still looking for an Ubuntu install disk or other Linux version; any recent version will do. Anyone? Thanks!
