On the infrastructure side of Skype. The Skype client for Linux hasn't been updated in....2+ years? About the time that MS purchased Skype, or shortly there after, it seems that the development of the Linux client was stopped.
Depending on what MS does with Skype, they will sell it, or attempt to move it to Windows, just as they tried to do with Hotmail back in the day (and they failed). Linux is a threat to MS, and they know it. This smoke-screen of "Linux interoperability" bullshit is simply to satisfy anti-trust regulators and the what not. Don't be fooled. ~k On Fri, 2012-06-08 at 08:11 -0700, Leslie S Satenstein wrote: > When you are uncertain of your Windows 8 future, you want to take advantage > of every revenue opportunity. > > Do realize that MS supports Linux and does a great job at it, because they > own SKYPE and SKYPE is entirely Linux based. > > > ------------------ > > > Regards > > Leslie > > Mr. Leslie Satenstein > 50 years in Information Technology and going strong. > Yesterday was a good day, today is a better day, > and tomorrow will be even better. > > mailto:[email protected] > alternative: [email protected] > www.itbms.biz > > > > > >________________________________ > > From: Jimmy <[email protected]> > >To: Montreal Linux Users Group <[email protected]> > >Sent: Friday, June 8, 2012 10:06 AM > >Subject: [MLUG] Canonical partners with Microsoft to support Ubuntu on Azure > > > >When I read the headline I though we were back to April 1st posts.. > >It does sound like a joke, but its true.
