I've been using SSDs with Ubuntu for a while now. Can't live without one once you've tried it :) Here are my notes: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MagicFab/SSDchecklist Keep in mind the above notes aren't s strictly needed to install an SSD today, but they explain some of the technical insignths. Some of the tips there also apply to speed up any other SATA-based storage setup - but be careful, you sometimes trade reliability for speed as is indicated there. Cheers, F.
