Hi Eric I can say that there is a transition from G2 to G3 that is difficult and G3 is different.

Well, to me the panel (Gnome2) was a favorites bar. G3 introduced 3D support via the Graphics processor. I was told that this 3D option was not possible with G2. Yes, I like G3, I also like G2, and KDE and XFCE. Which do I use the most? I use G3 more than G2 as my netbook only has G3. Here is an analogy. I was raised in English In 1985 I took a job with a French organization. At the time I did not know French, and the shock and effort to learn the 2nd language was difficult. But today I am comfortable with working with either language. Ergo, In the same way, I am comfortable with G2 and G3 and I dont even think about it. ------------------ Regards Leslie Mr. Leslie Satenstein 50 years in Information Technology and going strong. I agree with you here. It's not like my trusty old hammer is obsolete because I own a fancy new rapid fire compressed air nail gun. I don't want belt-fed nails dangling off my hammer when I'm putting one nail in a tight spot, when the power is out. FOSS is about choice, diversity, options. ie. C(++) pun intended. Speaking of which, hands up how many people are enjoying gnome3! -E _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca
