Thanks for all your suggestions. My current supplier Vif wants me to reconfigure my external Gnet modem. I suspect it's failed after five years of good service. Any way of verifying its functionality? I can't log on to my Vif account since two days.
Regarding modems, there is some question of unlocked versus locked modems. If anyone has a spare unlocked one they wish to sell me, please let me know.
