Hello All, Using WIN7 (Ubuntu gives the same error, using Oracle's NetBox) getting Error Code 651; so, in a nutshell:
LAN is not working. In Control Panels, the message is "ethernet cable not connected", but, of course, it is. Error code 651 may be a registry error, according to Internet searches, and a WIN7 problem. I am using a Gateway 2Wire modem (flashed unlocked but originally from Bell), and also a GNET Adsl modem BB 22060. Also tried different cables. I tried registry cleaners, e.g. EasyCleaner, etc. The Acer computer giving me problems does not have an OS disc, and the recovery mode alt F10 is not working. My ISP is VIF, and they have not been able to help. They do support Linux, though. I'd like to use Linux, but I'll need a working computer that has Linux installed. If anyone has a spare Linux box ready to use for sale, please call or text me at five one four nine nine nine seven nine one zero.
