There is no such guide, because novice users should not be upgrading
to 2.0. That's developers only!

2.0 is unreleased because it's unfinished. Peter was referring to the
latest in 1.x; he was recommending upgrading to whatever is the most
recent stable release. 2.0 is far from stable (although it may not eat
your firstborn child, you would regret using it right now).
