Hi I am keen Mnemosyne user (I work with it 1 hour every day). But I think that current install procedure is not intuitive. There are two issues:
1. Runnign installation program - I must unpack Mnemosyne, enter Mnemosyne directory, and open console and type: $ su Password: # python setup.py install I can do that. But why I have do it when windows users do not? I do not see any reason to fight like that. Unpacking is acceptable, because some times I do not make install but instead I want just original sources. But installation and uninstallation should be easiest as possible. Like that: (from console in unpacked Mnemosyne directory) For installation: $ su Password: # install For unistallation: $ su Password: # uninstall 2. Another annoying thing is removing unpacked Mnemosyne sources after installation. As user I can not do it (files generated by root). I must logging as root and remove directory. I can not imagine reasons for that. It intermediate files generation should be transparent to user. regards Jax --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mnemosyne-proj-users" group.
