I was thinking the other day, as I graded my cards usually between 3 - 5 if I got them right, that there was a correlation between how long I took to answer the question, and how well I knew the answer. If I got it right in less than 1 second, it was usually a 5, a few seconds, a 4, and a 3 or 2 for anything much longer than that. If I got it wrong, it's almost always a 0, and occasionally I would use 1.
I was wondering if anyone has experimented with the idea of auto grading... The user states whether that got it right or not, and the score is given based on the time they took to answer it. The user could use the time when the answer is show on the screen if they want to take a break, and the next questions timer could start as soon as they grade the previous one. I'd be interested to hear if this would have a negative impact on scheduling.
