Here is my feedback on 1.2.2...

First, the good parts. I like the basic philosophy here. I like spaced
repetition. I'm optimistic at the prospect of learning large amounts
of things from multiple fields (e.g., a language, a memory peg system,
some things to help me at card games, maybe even bus schedules and the
like.)

Next, keeping in mind that I haven't seen 2.0, here are my
criticisms...

* "Vice versa" should not add an independent second card but rather be
integrated, so that editing a flash card does not require editing two
cards.
* Images should be automatically scaled.
* The software should check for a "new day" while it is running, not
just when it is started. I don't usually shut down my laptop - I just
have it "sleep" at night - and I want Mnemosyne to pop up a new card
at the start of a new day, even if it is already running.
* Related to the above, saving should be automatic.
* The "edit the deck" display should hide the HTML tags and be more
readable.
* In general, the user should never be forced to read or write HTML.
HTML should be an advanced mode.
* Subcategories would be useful, both for learning and for editing the
deck.
* The software is painful to use with a mouse, because of the changing
location of the grades. Fix the location of the buttons. I know the
keyboard can be used for input, but I just want the option of using a
mouse sometimes.
* Fewer grades would be wonderful. I think 3 grades would be perfect:
"dunno/wrong", "got it with some effort", "piece of cake". This would
also make it easier to use a keyboard (e.g., 1,2,3 with your middle
three fingers.)
* Integrated support for audio recording would be nice.
* When you edit a card, there should be an option to reset the score.
For example, in a memory peg system, you might decide to change the
word associated to a two digit number; afterwards, you don't want the
program to assume you still know this card.

Thanks,
Maiklas
