What is most likely to be the simplest, safest, distribution of Linux to get
going with Mnemosyne.

Method: Install Linux~ on a DVD-RW in Mac Mini or MacBook DVD drive.
        1) Install Mnemosyne 1.2.2 on the same DVD

Practice for some time to see how that works out. Some Linux
Distros seem to have Japanese and Chinese fonts available, or are there
particular places to order them from ?

Having got used to it I'll then upgrade to Mnemosyne 2.x—ß
        2) Putting it on a 32GB USB stick, together with Linux: bootable on
Mac Book Intel or Mini Intel.

I believe the 'Normal answer' might be Debian; though there is a lively
UBUNTU group in Vancouver, BC ? I have downloaded the ISO image of UBUNTU
11.4 but noticed that it is not described as having extra Chinese and Japanese
fonts with input. I might ask the next set of questions on the appropriate
Linux forum.

Thanks

George
