A bothersome number of sister cards are often being shown to me on the same day. I have a small database (~1,000 cards) with a small number of both scheduled and not-memorised cards (usually ~25 and ~10 cards, respectively). Configuration settings are as follows:
First show new cards: in random order Review memorised cards: most urgent first Hold 10 non-memorized cards in your hand (Re)learn sister cards on the same day - unchecked beta 11-b. I suspect the source of the problem is that Mnemosyne is trying to fill its "quota" of scheduled and unmemorised cards from the very small pool, and that overrides the "no sister cards" rule. I would prefer that Mnemosyne prioritise "no sister cards" over "meet the quota." It would avoid sister cards by showing fewer cards than might otherwise be allowed. One solution would probably be to reduce the setting for number of non- memorised cards held in my hand, but the low number of scheduled and not-memorised cards is temporary. I expect those values to rise when I have time to add more cards. I would prefer that Mnemosyne would intelligently adjust itself to avoid sister cards rather than me needing to change the setting manually up or down as the statistics of my deck change, and only after I notice a negative effect of the setting. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mnemosyne-proj-users" group.
