If you do 'save' in your editor, doesn't it give you an option to
change the encoding?
I assume you're on a mac, perhaps other mac user can give more concrete tips.

Suggestions for how to convert to UTF-8 please?
I tried going to http://www.fileformat.info/convert/text/utf2utf.htm
and upload the file.
I told it the input was UTF-16 and my desired output was UTF-8.
It gave me a file of zero bytes back.
That doesn't look promising....

Hi,
That file is a UTF-16 file, please save it as UTF-8.

I exported Arabic vocabulary as a Tab separated file from Flashcard
Exchange.
I planned to import this as a regular flashcard format (two fields, not
the special vocabulary three field format).
When I try to import it, I get the message "missing answer on line:" and
then nothing after that.
I've tried to look at the text file to see if there were any extra tab
characters or empty records at the end, and I didn't see any.
I saw an old thread about a plug-in to support CSV, but I couldn't find
this plug-in to see if using CSV would make a difference.
I have attached the file I wanted to import.
