Wow!  That seems ridiculously easy.

If I rename the Mnemosyne database on the desktop, do you think that I will 
now be able to sync it with the laptop?

Please note that the laptop also has some of my son's cards.  These cards 
should have different Tag names.  Presumably, I will need to double check 
that he does not have any categories with identical Tag names as the 
desktop.
