Note that I never said that even merging them manually would be "a couple of 
minutes".

The only statement with respect to time in this thread is actually one by you, 
where you said:

However, it's not just blindly merging sql tables as that certain somebody told 
you. It's thinking through the consequences, e.g. with respect to the logs and 
the syncing, which takes time.
