Thanks Peter, on review of my previous efforts the issue was the removal of a problematic Mnemosyne file was complete so was not being corrected with a fresh download...clearing the AppData / Roaming folder of Mnemosyne allowed a fresh download and copy of backup files...all good now and very happy about it.
