Hi,

For 2.4, we updated from PyQt4 (which is getting unsupported) to PyQt5, which
includes a new rendering engine for high-resolution displays. If upgrading your
display drivers and/or using '--high-dpi-scaling' as a command line option
don't work, then hopefully a next version of PyQt will help.

Perhaps this new version will also help with the hard crash you experience on
startup on one of your machines, as this is happening deep inside a Qt library
outside of my control.

Trust me, this is as frustrating for me as it is for you :-)

Cheers,

Peter
