Hello Peter,
since I can't reproduce the error, I always noted, what I did right
before the error occured. Maybe this might help to get rid of the error.
The error seems to happen while transfering log files (error displayed
on smartphone). Always more than 70 % of the log files have been
received, when Mnemosyne crashes.
My guess is, that it is about NULL values or other errors in the
database or not closing the connection to the database correctly.
As you can see, Mnemosyne crashes quite often:
20190301 - After adding a card (tepegöz) and adding a tag to an existing
card (tepegöz-> Turkish::Technique; [tepe -> Turkish::Landscape this
card had only Starred and Starred_new tags]). And editing one card.
[tepe -> Deutsche Übersetzung]The tag "Turkish::Technique" did not sync
to the smartphone after the crash. The tag had be added again, and it
synced perfectly.
20190303 - Sync Error - After adding the tag "XX::Lernen::Sentences" to
the card "He may come along, provided that he doesn't make noise." and
adding tags to "Turkish::_Sentences::_EasiestToHardest::_Basics" cards
(backup of card set on PC available)
20190306 - Sync error After editing the content of two cards. I might
have deleted some tags too. The cards browser windows was still open.
Mnemosyne crashed on the PC. After full sync everything is ok.
20190310-Mnemosyne crashes after clicking on cliqz browser in taskbar
(on PC: error 104: connection reset by peer)
20190312 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC. Cliqz browser is opened and in the
foreground. Watching video on dailymotion.com. I did not click anything,
not even moved the mouse over the taskbar. Edıted content of card.
20190314 - Mnemosyne crahes on PC (connection reset by peer error on
phone). Added card. Deleted Starred tag and added tag. Changed content
of another card (the card, which was on schedule next, therefore
displayed on PC version of Mnemosyne. Web Browser is open in the
background. Livestream video is paused. Card browser window has been
closed with the x in the right corner. I did the same for the edit card
window.
20190317 - 1 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC (connection reset by peer;
displayed on smartphone). Edited card and tag of card. Brought internet
browser to the foreground while "edit card" window is open (edited card
just before the crash and activating the internet browser window).
20190317 - 2 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC (connection reset by peer;
displayed on smartphone). Edited same card again (this time changed only
the content)
20190317 - 3 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC (Connection reset by peer;
displayed on smartphone). I did not edit any cards? (not sure) Only
added and edited some card sets and did some repetitions on smartphone.
20190320 - added quite a few card, edited, deleted tags. Sync kind of
freezes at about 78 % (displayed on PC), then crashes. (Connection reset
by peer; displayed on smartphone). Changed some cards from
front-to-back-only cards to two-sided cards (Those cards were displayed
as two-sided cards in the cards browser. I am not sure about this). Why
is the right-click drop down menu to change tags in the card browser
different to the dropdown in the edit-cards window to change card type?
20190320 - Right after the previous sync. I added a the edited cards
(from previous step; especially those front-to-back-only cards mentioned
above) to a card set. Mnemosyne crashed on PC (at about 80% progress
displayed on PC). (Connection reset by peer; displayed on smartphone)
20190325 - 1 - Mnemosyne on PCs crashes after editing cards (tags
content). The message "Transfering log files 89%" was displayed on
smartphone, when it crashed. Right before crashing, the percentage did
not increase, it kind of froze. (Connecting reest by peer displayed on
smartphone)
20190325 - 2 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC. Synced twice. First time without
editing any card. The second time right after clicking "view card" on
smartphone. Only some seconds in between those two syncs. (Connecting
reest by peer displayed on smartphone)
20190325 - 3 - Mnemosyne crashes, after editing cards, while card
browser is still open. (Connecting reest by peer displayed on smartphone)
20190327 - 1 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC. (Connection reset by peer on
smartphone.) Video is running in browser. Edited card (tags and
content), that is displayed on PC. It crashes at 80%, while sending log
files (displayed on PC). 1. Synced cards. 2. edited visible card 3.
Tried to sync, but Mnemosyne crashed.
20190327 - 2 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC. (Connection reset by peer on
smartphone.). Just before, I added quite a lot tab separated vocabs.
Video running in the background. Renamed quite a few tags (e.g.
Turkish::Test to Turkish::Test2) --- There are some cards, which do not
have any tags, but which are not visible at all, when selecting them in
the card browser.
20190327 - 3 - Mnemosyne does not crash on PC (Error message
"socket.error 2" and after clicking it away: "filenotFoundError Errno: 2
No such file or directory ... Mnemosyne/backups/defaultXYZ.db" displayed
on PC) "ConnectionAbortedError: [Errno 103]" on smartphone. Sync server
not running, when retrying to sync.
20190402 - 1 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC (connection reset by peer;
displayed on smartphone). I have edited quite a few cards and tags.
20190402 - 2 - Mnemosyne (on PC) hangs at "sending media files". (This
has been a normal connection problem. The Mnemosyne process on PC had to
be killed via taskmanager) On smartphone: "Next sync will be have to be
a full sync"
20190407 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC. ("Connection reset by peer"
displayed on smartphone). Same card visible on smartphone and PC. Added
a tag to a different card, then displayed on PC and smartphone.
20190408 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC at 89 %. (Connection reset by peer.
Displayed on smartphone.). Edited two cards and added a tag. Video in
browser was running.
20190409 - Mnemosyne crashed on PC. ("Connection reset by peer"
displayed on smartphone). Video in browser was running.
20190409 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC at "getting log entries" displayed on
smartphone (at about 90 %). Edited the card displayed as next card on
PC. Created another card and added or changed tags of both cards.
20190414 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC after hanging at 81 % (displayed on
PC). (Connection reset by peer. Displayed on smartphone.) Added two
cards. Initial sync did not fail (seems to be normal). Youtube video is
running in the background.
20190417 - Mnemosyne crashes on PC while sending media files (at 81 %).
The smartphone was receiving log entries at the time of the crash.
Edited two cards and added tags. The visible card on PC has also been
active on the smartphone. YouTube video was running in the background.
Initial sync did not fail.
20190428 - 1 - Mnemosyne crashes after hanging at 72% (receiving log
files, displayed on PC) Connection reset by peer diplayed on Smartphone.
Added tags to cards and closed Mnemosyne on PC afterwards. Afterwards
reopened Mnemosyne to sync.
20190428 - 2 - Tried to do a full sync after crash "20190428 - 1".
"ConnectionAbortedError 103" displayed on smartphone. "socket.error 2"
displayed on PC.
20190511 - Mnemosyne crashed at 81 % while receiving log entries.
(Connection reset by peer. Displayed on smartphone.) Edited cards and
over all added tags to cards.
20190522 - 1 - Mnemosyne crashes at the initial sync while having
received 77% of the log files (after learning cards, but without editing
cards). I opened the sync screen on the smartphone, minimized the view
by pushing the home button. Then started the sync. It might be that the
Mnemosyne software on the PC wasn't running at the moment when opening
the sync window on the smartphone yet.
20190522 - 2 - Again crash after editing cards and adding tags of only
one card and deleting 1 card. Mnemosyne on the PC is completely closed
(no process running in the background).
201906 - Mnemosyne crashes at initial sync (That means: before editing
any cards). Watched a livestream on the internet. Changed focus between
windows.
Enjoy the nice weather!
Cheers,
Abakus
