Well, I understand your point, but as the comment states, we are trying to be friendly by gracefully disconnecting connections. The log at warn level should be enough to warn and discourage incorrect usage, without the need to throw an exception.
I can add to the warn log what reason we are using. And will switch "default" one from DO_NOT_WANT_TO_TALK_TO_YOU to REBOOTING.
