> Anyway to disable favicon loading via a preference setting? Not right now -- and in any case, when you think of "preferences" you're probably thinking about the Gecko side, which doesn't apply here.
If you want to be really sneaky, you can use js-ctypes and JNI to set org.mozilla.gecko.favicons.LoadFaviconTask.sHttpClient = null; which should cause a (caught) NullPointerException every time it tries to fetch a favicon. That'll work in Firefox 27; I don't know about 26 or 25 off-hand. Probably the right thing to do is for us to implement proxy support for background services and a proxy configuration UI. That's not something that could land before Firefox 29, though. If you're interested in working on these parts, let me know. I've filed a few bugs, so at least there's something to point at; see the dependencies of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507641 _______________________________________________ mobile-firefox-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mobile-firefox-dev
