I think the preferred context local structure might be better than the
page vars (or my original idea).  Only two things with mg have really
"clicked" for me - the mg.xml/controller combos and having the page as
much "presentation only" as possible.  I hate to start doing things
that feel like cheating already.  I'm having enough trouble with the
other stuff as it is.
