I made a test at rpi2 with opensuse Tumbleweed image. There are all versions of usb_modeswitch, qmi, modemmanager suitable. There are only two lines for connect: mmcli -m 0 --simple-connect="apn=internet.telekom,ip-type=ipv4" --verbose dhcpcd wwan0 and two for disconnect: dhcpcd -x wwan0 mmcli -m 0 --simple-disconnect I downloaded 300MB (400 packages) to test the connection. It was stable. So I think rpi 2 architecture/hardware works with E398 well. The problems(solutions) are based on images/distributions.
