Who chooses which bits to trim?  

The problem you folks have is that 98% of the world uses top-posting.  If you 
can't cope with top-posting then only 2% of the world can help you with your 
work.  You are actively blocking 98% of people that might be willing to help 
out.  

Your fight against the 98% might have made more sense 30 years ago, maybe even 
20 years ago, before top-posting became such a dominant way of life.  Nowadays 
it is too late to have that fight unless you just want to block 98% of people.
