It defintely does... This album is excellent, even though it sounds
completely different from all their previous material (even Brighten the
Corners wasn't like that!). And yes, "Major Leagues" is one of the best
tracks there, but the ones I've fallen in love at first sight (listen?)
were "Billie" and "Platform Blues".

Have you checked Beck's "Mutations"? It kinda goes through the same
process, it's so so cleaner... and lots of background sfx... it rocks too.
But I sincerely don't think that Nigel's production has, uh, injured
Pavement's music... and this album almost hadn't collaboration by Scott
Kannberg (you know, "Spiral Stairs"), it was mostly compositions by
Malkmus himself... so let's not throw all the blame on Nigel.
