whoever it was that just went off on people who've been talking about sonic youth- this is for you- i said right up front that i have a great deal of respect for them because i'm well aware of their influence (i feel ok about saying that i know some things cuz i've been listening to all this stuff for over four years-since my junior year in high school) sonic youth is just not the most ideal thing for me to personally listen to, but, i own one of their cds and i've seen them live. sometimes i'm in the mood for them. it's like that. they were also one of the first "indie" things i ever heard. i think people who go off about how much they hate a band without knowing enough to make the judegement aren't right, but it's also not right to get so angry about it-bitching everyone out like that, is it really going to accomplish much? we should all discuss and learn from each other, not just go off uninformed or angry. love-kirstin.
