Since no one has posted anything about the MM shows in SF, I will. I saw them at Great
American Music Hall, and excuse me for complaining, the actual MM show was great.
Can't list an entire set list for you, but they did play some songs I haven't heard
before as well as Cowboy Dan, Dramamine, one of the Japanese EP songs, and some other
stuff, urged everyone to salsa dance and quoted himself about the broken jaw thing.
For some reason I really wanted to hear Head South, but no luck. The drumming was par
excellence, I have to say, damn that boy can play.

Complaints though, are as follows: The opening band Love As Laughter was pretty
shitty. Really shitty, I thought. Also, I missed the MM show at Bottom of the Hill the
night before, I hear that was also a crowd-pleasing event, and I regret not going
there instead of GAMH, because of the GAMH all ages factor. Squished up against a
crowd of squealing, bouncing teenaged girls who ooh'd and ahhh'd Isaac (and Isaac
only) was nauseating to say the very least. Now I know why people bitch abour MM
signing to a major label, because it's major label purchasing goons who squeal and
cooo like Beatles fans at bands who really aren't that kind of band (i.e. they're not
fucking N'Sync, okay?) Plus, ok, the particular girls I had the misfortune of being
next to had big hair buns and stuff that they weren't too careful about bouncing into
my face. I know, I should have moved, but it was seriously packed and hard to even
reposition, thankfully I finally did move, and ha, it happened to be right !
!
!
in front of the squealies, blocking their view of Isaac, which maybe made them want to
cry. I am mean! But fuck it, I didn't act like that at their age, and maybe they need
to learn about being cool and reserved when viewing a band that is not played on MTV
regularly. If any of you bratty girls is reading this, I just have to say this: boy,
you're astoundingly dumb.

Non-related: Saw At The Drive in last night w/ Get Up Kids. ATDI were really really
good, much better live than their recorded stuff. GUK was ok, pretty poppy, but
still, decent. Props to their drummer, too, he's really got a good sound. The keyboard
player was likely on crack though (I guess he's from Coalesce who I don't know much
about).

 - - The end of my bitter message from adulthood about why teenagers suck. How did I
get from there to here? Or was I ever "there" in the first place.
