like when my friend calls someone a spic

to

now i realize that your above comment wasn't necessarily directed at us,
being as tho you know we're at least young adults but i think i can make a
decent argument out of this. how many of us are ten years old and under?
raise your hands! now how many of us have decided from that guy saying
"jewed" that it's cool to say "jewed!" WOW HEY NO ONE. maybe that's
because we're adults! or at least young adults ;) i mean i agree that we
shouldn't influence our children to speak or think this way, i sure don't,
but none of us are kids on this list and the guy (whoever said it cos i
missed it) who said it will probably keep saying it. it's a term, it's
probably not the nicest term, but it's a term and personally i think it's
pretty harmless. think of it this way:
i have heard MANY TIMES...black people calling each other niggers (but
watch out cos some of them don't do that!)
i have heard...asian people make fun of their own accents!
i have heard...spanish people make fun of themselves!
i have heard...myself among other jews call something "jewed"
my #2 point, weak as it may seem to you, is that the modest mouse list
shouldn't be the poster list for defending rights of minorities. if it's
offensive to you, that's fine..but keep it to yourself cos we're just gonna
keep on ranting like this like we did when someone said something was gay
and now that someone has said something is jewed.
and the #1 point in case.......WE ARE (YOUNG) ADULTS. we KNOW better and
if we don't we're probably not gonna learn from other people on this list!
if you ever see that guy beating up a jew, you have reason to be concerned,
otherwise, let it go...cos as of this email i'm just dropping it and acting
like no one ever said "jewed" and no one was ever offended.
