I think we may be working from different definitions of terminology here.
First off, the stratification of beers:
piss beer=busch, hamms, ranier, pabst, beast, anything else that is
available in 16 oz. cans.
cheap beer=bud, coors, weinhards, anything else that is available in
bottles but doesn't flatten the wallet. (other than the obvious exception
of pabst, which is really an anomaly as the only piss beer to come in
bottles with the demise of the ranier pounder [RIP])
Anything else is beer snob beer.
People who genuinely enjoy the taste of beer are fooling themselves. They
genuinely enjoy getting schnokkered, but in the circles they frequent it
may not be "hip" to be "hammered". Not to say I don't enjoy kicking back
with a cold one, I do, but I honestly don't think I would touch the stuff
if it weren't for it's mind bending properties when ingested.
Sorry if this sounds angry or confrontational, it's not. You have every
right to blow huge wads of cash on your beer, and respect you for being
capable of financing the habit.
