hey everyone.
i just got in from the first of the non-21+ MM shows at the Bowery Ballroom.
I'm going, again, tomorrrow, but this was my first time seeing them, and it
was sooo good. I got through to the very front and sat through Les Savy Fav
(their singer took my glasses for a little bit, which i didn't much like,
but gave me a beer after the show, which was nice... and the scarves were
pretty, i guess.. but anyway..). Califone were splendid, as always, but not
too many people seemed interested (though i guess that's because they were
anxious for the Mouse..)Overall, though, the show was great, save one
important detail... they ended with custom concern! now, don't get me
wrong.. i love the song, but.. i was really waiting for it to morph into
tundra/desert at any second, and really close off the show in rock fashion..
which it never did. but, eh.. still the best show i've seen, save maybe the
dismemberment plan.. In respect to Russ, since i taped the show, i requested
Humpin' Punmpkin', but Isaac didn't seem too keen on the idea. Sorry, Russ.
oh..
a. Jeremiah's butt-rock hair kicks ass!
b. and The touring (?) guitarist was a nice touch.
c. and i got tons of photos for any site that wants 'em.
d. the califone guys came on every now and then to help out on synth and
banjo, but they didn't play "South of..."

the set list was (and this isn't in any sort of order..)
******
custom concern
truckers atlas
positive negative
neverending math equation
paper thin walls
perfect disguise
styrofoam boots
trailer trash
dramamine
breakthrough
third planet
all night diner
doin' the cockroach
out of gas
polar opposites
wild packs of family dogs
what people are made of

ok. see ya later, or tomorrow, if you're at the show. I'm wearing a bright
red Northampton Fire Musters shirt (again) and taking pictures (again). :)
bye. corey.
