Very interesting question to ask....
Well I like Promise Ring a bit and have their album "30 degrees everywhere",
and have heard "Nothing Feels Good" a few times, and liked them both. It's
true, a lot of their stuff can be considered repetitive but it sounds pretty
good to me. The lead singer/guitarist was in a band before Promise Ring
called Capn' jazz, a very excellent band indeed. The vocals can be a bit
much at times but I recommend checking them out.
I think, when taking into consideration that Promise Ring are often clumped
into the Emo category, they sound a bit more unique than many of the other
bands they are put with.
