Okay, so my friends and I went to the Granada lastnight in Lawrence. This
place, when not used as a concert venue for high quality uses by Modest Mouse
or Weezer is a "dance club" where overly hormonal,
way-too-hairy-and-sweaty-for-their-own-good "men" think that it's appropriate
to walk up and grab a girl's ass and drag her out onto the dance floor and
procede to rub his sweaty croch all over her. Now, if it were up to me, I
would not have gone but it was one of my friend's birthday and I did her a
favor in going with her. Never again. Unless it's retro night, I would
think that it might be hard for some guys to "grind" to Tainted Love, or at
least I would hope so. It really breaks my heart that some girls have to
stoop to the level of wearing too little spandex to cover their fat asses
just to get a little action from some guy that resembles a member of
MiliVanili, or at least one of their members. I don't consider myself to be
conservative by any means, and I definately don't have a problem with shaking
your booty, but PLEASE people, have a LITTLE decency, or at least a little
self control. Now, the point of this post...In avoiding having crotch sweat
smeared all over me, I noticed a flyer stating that Weezer will be playing
September 8th at the Granada and tickets go on sale August 19th. I suppose
that made my night worthwhile....
