Apache::DBI problem

Hi,

I am using Apache::DBI for user authentication 
and it works just fine with one exception, 
it does not kill the sql backend server process starting up during authentication,
so after some time postgres is running out of allowed backend server 
processes and authentication does not work any more.

Please help

I'm using:
perl 5.005_03, 
Apache/1.3.11 (Unix) with mod_perl/1.21,
ApacheDBI-0.87,
DBI-1.13,
PostgreSQL-7.0
