If you're trying to wrap some sort of layout or navigation around your proxied content, take a look at mod_layout. From what I understand it's _supposed_ to be able to wrap layout around proxied requests. It wouldn't give you frames, but it would give you stock content/navigation around your pages. Other than this, someone else would have to comment on proxy's capability here, but I don't think that request "fits" what proxy does.
