Yea, I have a similar story...
When I originally signed-on & gave them my life's story, they welcomed me.
Then one day the guy who runs the site asked me (via E-mail from the West
Coast) to buy a rather expensive signed book only available at a booksigning
here in NYC. I would have done so gladly, but he insisted that I front him
the $ and await reimbursement ... anyway, he never sent me an advance check,
I didn't buy the book, & the very next day my Boiler membership got cancelled
on me without notice or explanation.
It all seemed to me a petty way to run an online community.
