I don't mean to bang on either, but it is actually a well known 'fact' that
happens to not be true, like Sweden having the highest suicide rate in the
world, and other such 'facts'. Not very relevant or anything, but let's just
put that myth aside.

Yeah, but to be controversial Keith was the spirit of rock'n'roll, wasn't
he, rather than the essence of 'mod' - I mean there IS something very 'mod'
about not smoking, not drinking, not eating meat, keeping 'clean', in
control, and not being a greaser - which is why I started the day with a
bacon butty, a fag and no shower.
But before it became a fashion-show then a freak-show, there was a huge
element of striking a pose, attitude-wise, making things hard work -
'serious fun'.
