Yup, I think it's the most powerful song I've ever heard. That intro is
unbeatable. It really is THE Mod bible. 'Continental Suits fitted to a tee,
they've got slim jim ties, sharp as can be!!!' Go Etta!!
You Yanks are so lucky, I paid over 20 for both of those! Seven Day Fool
gets played a lot in Britain. Far more than my prefered cut.
However, if Julian is telling the truth, we lucky Leeds cats will no
doubt get to hear the little gem tonight down the Beach. Along with all
those fab dancefloor jazz records. I'm actually really glad you're on
tonight. I asked Mark the other day and he said that it was Tony from
Middlesborough. Not too keen on his music choices. Nice bloke though.
If Mr Lawton pulls out the Sidewinder, watch me go! Then Jimmy
Smiths The Cat, followed by Chico Himilton's, For Mods Only. Think I can
cope with those Ju?! Whatever the hell you do, don't even think of playing
the WHOLE of Lee Morgan. I can't usually stand up after that one... Even
half of it. I think uptempo jazz is the best thing in the world for moving
your feet to. Superb stuff.... Julian, have you got Ray Charles' 'My Baby
Don't Dig Me'? If you have, any chance of giving it a spin tonight?
See You All tonight,
I'll be the one in PINSTRIPES!! And a fitted jacket, slim jim
tie sharp as can be....!! Oh and an unnecessarily
large holdall!!
Saving the brown suit for tomorrow!!
Matt.....
