The October issue of "Mojo" (with The Fab's "Yellow U-Boat" on the cover)
has a one page article, part of a monthly feature on records that changed an
artists life. Well this month old Elvis Costello is on about "Sound
Venture"! There's even a piccy of the old geezer holding his original copy.
Pretty neat though. He muses that when he was young and strapped for cash he
sold his Small Faces 45's and held onto the Fame lp.....amusing, He said his
current ambition is to see that it's "properly reissued". Also there's a
rather lengthy and amusing Tom Jones article that has him doing all his
usual macho bullshit (threatening Joe Meek, threatening Lennon, kicking
Jerry Lee Lewis's white trash ass, getting an engraved gun from Elvis,
balling Mary Wilson et al). AND an over sized Clash article, a bit behind
the ball as some other Brit glossy had a better Clash piece with
accompanying Joe Strummer interview last month. This one in "Mojo" resorts
to interviewing Caroline "Where Am I Now" Coon and Bernie Rhodes who claims
, like Rutling Orange Peel to have invented everything. Wanker.
