Muchly Thanx to all those who have contributed to my little enquiry
into 'Beat Talk', the reason why i wanted more info is although i said
it was for 'research' it wasn't academic research its for an article i'm
writing for a fanzine, so i wanted 'fun' beat talk, which i also got!
I was particulary impressed by the a new beat version of a Roman speech
that Brian sent me - i'm actually teaching a class of 11 year olds all
about Caesar's death tommorrow...it might come in useful, but then again
i risk the 'trying to be a hip teacher and failing miserably' factor
which is definately a no-no!
As for Jonathan's focus on the various Brighton Beaches (or 'Brighton
Bitch' as it's playfully called in Leeds) i thought that was a worth
while and interesting ramble. I am guilty of never trying out Sheffield
or Leciester (though am dying to go to Sheffield for that 'disco'
dancefloor). But all in all, the music doesn't really vary from each
'Beach' as it's the same Djs (minus Leciester has 'my mate Steve' who
claimed once to be a mod but now wears army pants who plays in the big
room,room one, instead of Daniel Guest). I suppose the venue could
effect a night, but i find the 'Rocket' a particulary good venue and
obviously i love the crowd who go and i have been going for the last 3/4
years... and i'll definately be there when JTQ play next friday!
