I heard good and bad reports about them.
Apparently it's completly different stuff from Quant. More harmonies, less
guitar solos etc. I don't know if it's really Country as people described it
more "folky " to me ( I know that's not far off).

As for Frannie wearing all that clobber, why not. He's always been a extreme
individual ;-)
I don't think I ever heard him call himself a Mod. He's to busy with being
himself, a thing that a lot of people lack.
