is not a clearinghouse for spam, petitions, virus hoax warnings or other mass emails

I'm sure Mr. Downs of Chicago Illinois meant well by posting his concerns about this
political issue, but there are better ways for him to have brought this to our
attention.
As a result, everyone on the modslist had to download this email twice, and those of
us who were unlucky enough to have been in his CC: list downloaded it a total of four
times.
Jason is still on the list, but I wanted to remind you all that if you have any
questions at all about whether something you want to post to this list is topical to
the modslist, please write to me personally and ask me first. Under no circumstances
are mass emailings of the above listed or any other kind permissible on this mailing
list.
Just to clarify questions that will result from this paragraph, you can still promote
your band, label, club, etc. so long as it actually pertains to this list. If that is
the case, I might also remind you that the bcc: field of your email headers is a
better idea than your cc: field. Let me know if you need further clarification about
this.
If you are looking to promote an issue of concern of this nature, please do so by
placing a URL at the end of a topical post such that we can choose to visit that web
site or not.
