One's Brian didn't hit on:
Maynard Ferguson / Keith Mansfield - Chala-Nata - from 'The World of Maynard
Ferguson' (UK title, not sure of US). This is sitar meets 'Sound Gallery'
style big band 'easy' pop-jazz. So far, not on any compilation, and not
over-played in clubs.

Distant Galaxy (Don Sebesky) - Guru'Vin - appalling pun aside, this is in
the same territory as above. The Distant Galaxy LP was re-issued (very
cheaply) last year, but the track's also available on one the Mojo jazz club
compilations (that's Mojo the German club, not UK magazine).

Ananda Shankar - there's the 60s LP that was recently re-issued with the
versions of Jumping Jack Flash / Light My Fire (though the best track is the
last one on the LP), or there's the two tracks ('Streets of Calcutta' /
'Dancing Drums') that were compiled on the 'Blue Juice' compilation.

Also should add that the big Dave Pike Set track, 'Mathar', was re-issued as
a 12" single (great pressing quality), and has also been compiled on
'Talking Jazz Vol.2' (Talking Loud) and on the Outcaste 'Asian Underground'
compilation.

Now if only I had a lead streching from my stereo to the computer I could
turn them into MP3s. . .
