To be fair, Club Deluxe has always been a little bit more than what it may
seem. Although it is more or less considered to be the birthplace of
neo-swing in San Francisco, it's bartenders and booking agent have always
had varied backgrounds and tastes. The club has also had a house Hammond
organ for years and has regularly featured both Hammond acts as well as more
outside things like Sonny Simmonds and the such over time. In the past
couple of years, they managed to drive out most of the swing crowd as well
as the majority of the yuppie-types...purposefully, it seems
Above all it's a very classy bar/night-spot, with excellent bartenders and a
Hammond organ just rarin' to go...really, what else could you want?
